Stearns and Foster has been our exclusive mattress in every bedroom and home for over thirty years simply because there is nothing close in comfort and quality. With a need for a master bedroom replacement we decided to approach with an open mind. We researched and tested many of the well-known coil spring and foam brands as well as the new to market brands that were highly rated. We decided a coil-spring mattress best fit our needs. All the brands performed equally well but the Stearns and Foster Reserve (medium - important to get the right firmness) was the one mattress that was "noticeably" more comfortable. Stearns and Foster is in the upper price range but the benefits of a quality sleep far outweigh the additional cost. Stearns and Foster is clearly the industry standard for mattress comfort and luxury.

My Stearns and Foster PT soft is pure comfort that removes the day's stress from my body, and makes me happy that I found such a high quality mattress. Starting on the first night's sleep I felt my pain easing, and by the end of the week, was back to myself again and very grateful for my Stearns and Foster Pillowtop soft. I walked into a store showroom in a lot of pain (shoulder, neck, and back) caused by another manufacturer's mattress over the past eight months being told it "was part of the adjustment period". I've never even developed this kind of pain from being active at the gym lifting weights, swimming, and biking. Last month I went into a furniture store looking to replace this other mattress, but lacking confidence that I could find it. I'm thankful for the saleswoman who encouraged me to expand my options and consider the Stearns and Foster mattresses. My immediate reaction was, "my friend's mom has one and it's a super-expensive high quality mattress that's out of my price point". I was pleasantly surprised that the Estate mattress was in my price point. The quality was immediately evident. I'm super grateful for Stearns and Foster making such a high quality product that has restored my well-being! My future mattress purchases will always be Stearns and Foster, and I'm sharing this information with family and friends to help them as well! We ordered our mattress on February 16 and I kept looking up the order and it just kept saying it hasn't shipped yet but everything else was there so I called them this morning and they said it had been canceled because they sent me an email, which probably went to spam and no phone call saying that they need to verified it wasn't fraud , so here we are with no mattress and they won't honor me the sale price🤷🏻♀️ Not a good company to deal with a unfortunately😕 so disappointing.

This product is really expertly made! While my husband and I were looking at the different mattresses available, it was clear the Stearns and Foster were of a higher quality and craftsmanship. When the mattress and adjustable base arrived and after our first night sleep, we knew we made the right decision. My back felt so much better right away! Even with the price being a bit beyond our budget, we felt confident in what we were buying. It's been a week now with our new mattress and I know we purchased a quality product!

I tried some mattresses at a local store before I purchased from Stearns and Foster. I thought I'd like one of the wildly popular new mattresses like Saatva or Purple. But I found that I hated the feel of memory foam. This S&F inner spring mattress has a nice feel. It gives and pushes back when I sit or lie down unlike the memory foam that feels like flopping on a bag of wet sand. It's hard to explain but I highly recommend testing spring mattresses before just purchasing one of the popular foam mattresses online. It's a completely different and very comfortable feel.

Worst mattress and customer service ever. Do not recommend. Mattress started collapsing and cause a tiny pen size stain they will not warranty it! I will make sure anyone I know does not ever purchase a sterns mattress.

We were looking for a firm mattress in originally purchased a Beautyrest Black. Was very disappointed with it and sent it back and replaced it with our Sterns and foster firm pillow top.
The difference is that with the beauty rest it was firm, but actually quite hard. After just a couple nights of sleeping, a divot formed in the mattress, which shouldn't happen.
The Stearns and Foster is firm, but the pillow top gives it a little bit of soft comfortable feeling. While the mattress does conform a bit to your body, The, divots in the mattress aren't quite as noticeable as with the beautyrest.
Pro tip: purchase your mattresses online directly from the manufacturer site. Delivery was a breeze, and you won't need to pay a large return fee to a furniture store. Wish I had known that from the start.

We honestly love the bed. So comfortable, and the best bed we have owned hands down. We had planned to buy another set. Not so sure now.
Price on our mattress dropped $300 10days after we bought ours. We asked if we could get a refund of that amount given how close the timing was. If it were outside of a month, we never would have asked. But, this I felt was different. Was told that they could do nothing.
I mentioned our future purchase plans. No response even though my email tracker showed them as reading it. So. Essentially Told to pound sand.

I made my purchase in November, received my mattress in December. Now it hasn't even been 90 days and my mattress is starting to sag. Customer service has informed me they can not replace it because it's my fault I don't have the proper foundation. What!?!? Very disappointed for the amount of money I spent thinking I was getting a quality mattress. Very unsatisfied and I will never recommend anyone to this product or buy from them again.

Finally! After having had three prior experiences from the Stearns and Foster bed lines, the Reserve Pillow Top Soft, the Lux Estate, and the Lux Hybrid all of which were comfortable, however not quite the right fit for me. After careful consideration I rested upon the oh so comfortable Reserve Collection Medium Tight Top. What a pleasure it is to sleep these days, like a dream! The snooze button has become my friend since my purchase of this Reserve Collection Medium mattress! If you are looking for non motion transfer, slightly hugging but definitely not that sinking feeling, (trust me I've had a soft pillow top that sank) more comparable to the perfect amount of strong soft density as far as the absorption goes. My body feels aligned as well as supported in my hips, back and neck as I am a side sleeper. While reading on my back I feel supported in the appropriate areas & very relaxed. My arms do not wake up numb from poor sleeping posture as in prior mattress experiences. I do not sink in the middle at all, the consistency is symmetrical throughout. I wake up refreshed. Actually, I don't want to get up at all because this mattress is so flipping comfortable! Finally! Thank you Stearns! You truly deserve the credit for this one, hence I am leaving a review.
P.s. If you are considering this mattress purchase consider allowing it to air out (gas off) for a few days as the organic matter within does smell a bit otherwise.

We purchased our pillow top mattress less than three years ago and the mattress is sagging already. We are very disappointed in the quality. Our previous pillow top lasted for over 10 years. The lux estate has not held up. When we measured the dip in the mattress it is two inches. We spent a lot of money for a mattress we are unable to sleep on.

I needed to get out of pain (both sides of my neck, shoulders, upper back) after trying to sleep for 8 months on another manufacturer's mattress. I had been to the chiropractor, too. When I tried the Stearns & Foster at the store, I just knew it was the right one. I had no doubt. Every night for the last week my pain has dissipated more and more because of my Stearns and Foster mattress. I'm just so happy that I can finally sleep all night and not wake up after a few hours with pain. The quality is wonderful and makes me happy when I'm changing sheets and seeing how well-crafted this is. This is the only mattress I will purchase again in the future.

My wife and I love our new Stearns & Foster Reserve Firm Pillow Top mattress. We sleep more soundly with no need to "roust around" to find the best sleeping position. This is aa first for us. This Mattress replaced our first STEARNS and FOSTER MATTRESS which we enjoyed for 16 years. To be honest I never really thought of looking at any other brand after experiencing the difference with the last one. The quality is exceptional and the comfort is worth every penny spent. We recently went to a friends house and we were fortunate enough to sleep on this mattress. I was experiencing severe pain in my L5 S1 vertebrae. The night that I slept on this mattress for the first time in a long time, I actually got a good nights rest. The following week when we were home, we opted to buy this mattress as it had proved to be a mattress that I could actually sleep on and rest on without having pain in my lower back.

Within months there were 2 indentations from where my husband and I sleep. I am 5'8" and 140lb and have never had this problem with any mattress just a few months old. My husband filed under the warranty within the warranty period and heard nothing. He obtained the email address from the company he purchased from and sent follow-ups. Still, no answer.
The bed has only continued to get worse. Now my husband is experiencing back pain.
We invested in what we thought was a high-end mattress and are VERY disappointed in the mattress.
We understand that sometimes with good products things go wrong.
However, this does not explain being ignored when we tried to give the company a chance to explain and/or make it right.
We are EXTREMELY disappointed in the lack of response to a warranty claim.
WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER STEARNS & FOSTER MATRESS AGAIN!

When my husband and I were first married, nearly 60 years ago, we had the money to purchase only one item of furniture. It was a Stearns & Foster mattress. Over the years when that mattress had to be replaced...and we needed beds for our two daughters, we opted for an unknown brand at a mattress store: big mistake. A second replacement for our own king size bed was a well known, well advertised luxury brand a friend had raved about. Another mistake. Well, at least I learned from my mistakes. With our nest empty, we needed a mattress for our guest room. We did our shopping correctly this time. Went to a high end department store, tested out all the mattress within our price range (and I do mean tested...by taking off our shoes and lying down), We chose a Stearns and Foster "Tropical Oasis: Saba Wind." Success. Happiness. Everyone who slept on the mattress commented on how comfortable it was. Fast forward to several months ago. My husband complained. Our "luxury" was way past its expiration date. He was falling into some kind of invisible hole he told me. I made an instant decision. I called Stearns & Foster and asked for the current iteration of our "Saba Wind." The very nice young woman who answered told me the Lux Estate Pillow Top Medium would be the updated version. I drove to a nearby store that had this exact model on the floor. Yes! Beautifully comfortable. Incredible support. Perfect. Firm yet not too firm. A pillow top with provided just the right amount of "give." We're thrilled. We made the right decision. We've lived and learned. The "bargain" mattresses were a waste of money. The famous brand earned no fame from us. It simply didn't hold up over time. We're back with Stearns & Foster, where we started out. And we're happy!

We had a Stearns and Foster king for over 10 years with a wonderful experience. We purchased a new Lux Estate Pillow top in May 2025 and within 12 months it was starting to fall apart. The sides are caving in, the top has developed very shallow areas with a hugh bump in the middle of the mattress, and the pillow top is horrible. We are in our 70's and weigh about 150 and 210 pounds. We spent a significant amount of money on a mattress that we thought would be our "forever" mattress and it is so BAD. My back hurts daily when I get up. I can't sleep comfortably on it because of the high ridge running down the middle or I feel like I am sleeping on a hill. This mattress has definitely changed my life for the worse. If I could upload pictures I would. And, like most of the other reviews posted, the first 6 months of ownership was not a problem. They are just not built with quality to last after that time.

I wish I knew how heavy this mattress was going to be, we have a difficult time tucking in the sheets and blanket. Our old mattress did not sag in the middle, I have to work myself to the side with this one. I also wake up in the middle of the night now since we bought this mattress with pain in my hands, I've tried changing pillows but it doesn't make a difference. Turning the mattress is a real chore. I did not read reviews before buying.

I have owned two Stearns and Foster mattresses prior to my most recent purchase. All were pillow tops. The new mattress has sa very beautiful design on the exterior. There's a pattern of a Fleur De Les. Being for New Orleans it just needed to purchased. I definitely do like the blue darker color. The mattes give a good night of rest. Only thing that I would say is that the other mattresses that I one can be flipped over to the other side. Both sides are pillow topped. It also feels slightly less firmness around the outer edge. I know that with new technology and products too make the product have gotten better quality over time. With all that has been said, I hope to have it for a long time.

My husband and I have been through three beds in the last five years! I went back and forth many times debating the purchase of this mattress.....doing research on all different kinds of mattresses! Yes there are cheaper ones, however I am so pleased that I ended up choosing this one! We have had it since the beginning of the year.....so only a month in, but everyday we are both kind of surprised at what a difference this mattress has made in our sleep. We sleep through the night, we don't notice tossing and turning anymore, and a lot of the pain we used to wake up with has subsided.....not disappeared.....but not near as bad as it used to be.

I certainly needed a new mattress as mine was about 25 years old! The sag in the middle wasn't conducive to great sleep. It took only 2-3 nights to adjust to my new - Stearns & Foster. Am now enjoying a wonderful nights sleep. I wake up refreshed.
I had hoped to make it a bit lower but the pillow top added to the height- a small price to pay - great quality- good decision on my part!

My husband and I are experiencing restful sleep, our firm mattress is a dream! Not to sink into the mattress is great. The mattress is very firm, yet it molds to your body. I was worried that I would get indents like our old mattress but when you rise in the morning it looks as if no one has slept on the mattress!

After shopping and trying several brands, we decided to purchase a Sterns and Foster. After only two or three months we noticed a sag on both sides of the bed. We called Haverty's and they sent a technician out to assess the mattress set up. It was set up by the delivery team from the store. The technician adjusted the feet of the frame and said it was normal for it to have a slight sag. It's even worse now. There is a huge hump in the middle of our bed. This mattress causes us to wake every morning with a backache. I will never purchase a product from Sterns and Foster, and I would recommend Beautyrest Black to anyone looking for a comfortable mattress.

Years of back pain and multiple bed purchases we have finally found the champ! The bed is extremely comfortable and has alleviated ongoing back pain for my wife and I. We have paired the mattress with a Tempur-Pedic Pro Smart adjustable base and it's been truly great. You get your best results sleeping in the middle of the bed. The sides of the bed still provide comfort but the middle is the sweet spot! Overall comfort everywhere. Now we just have to fight to keep the kids out!
