Received a damaged mattress. I supplied pictures to S and F and they agreed it was damaged and would send another mattress out. The second mattress arrived in WORSE shape than the first so I did not accept. NOW this is when the extreme frustration begins. I emailed the company asking for a full refund. This company has NO customer service team. You are a victim of email correspondence on their pace, basically non existent. When I finally got someone on the phone they were RUDE and ended up having up on me and this happened TWICE. This company claims to be luxury but is the bottom of the basement in quality, delivery and customer service. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND A STERNS AND FOSTER PRODUCT!!! I AM STILL WAITING............

At first, this bed felt great. But now, over 7 weeks later, I keep waking up with lower back pain. I also have hip pain and even rib pain when I sleep on my side. I am not sure if I need an even softer mattress, like the Reserve, or a medium mattress, or not even a Stearns and Foster mattress. I used to love Stearns and Foster and had a soft pillow-top Bradenburg for 10 years, but something changed in their mattresses. I hate this mattress and will be doing a return.

I sleep 100% better. I don't toss and turn nearly as much. And im finally feeling rested when I wake. There really isn't anything I don't like a about it so far. I would recommend sterns and foster to anyone wanting a new mattress. Love my sterns!

I contacted S&F after purchasing this mattress at an Ashley Homestore. I knew the day it was delivered it wouldn't work but they refused to exchange the mattress and S&F would not support me in this issue. They do not hold their retailers accountable for the sell of their products

Purchased to replace a memory foam with cool gel layer that had gotten way too hot for hubby. This mattress has eased my back pain tremendously, however, it is way too hot.
Will need to exchange it for one without any foam. Hubby loves the way it supports and is comfortable, just way too hot even with the cooling mattress pad purchased from Mattress Firm.
I would recommend this mattress for side and back sleepers who like firm support. However, just not for people who sleep hot.

Having slept on a mattress that went bad a year ago, I can't tell you how amazing it feels to sleep on a supportive mattress again. My body thanks me!
I sleep through the night. I wake up rested. My dogs love it too.
It has the softness of the pillow top but firmness underneath to support my body. I love that I can swing my legs over the edge and the mattress supports me, and does not collapse under the weight of my legs.
I love it so much that I'm thinking about buying a 2nd mattress for my guest room.

We've now slept on our new mattress for two days and my wife's back ache is gone! We have a split King with medium pillow top and adjustable bases and they are so much more comfortable than our old Tempurpedic mattress. We had hoped that my wife's sore back would improve and are thrilled with the restful sleep! We love being able to adjust the beds so that we can read and watch TV in comfort! Waking up the next morning, having slept better than I had in years, I knew that I had made the right decision to purchase the Lux Estate Pillow Top Soft mattress. (I am a restless side sleeper and at 58 years old, waking up throughout the night because I'm too HOT, does not make for a good day.) The Lux Estate is not only gorgeous! (Thank you L. Hess for making my mattress) it actually does what the advertising said it was designed to do: I stayed COOL all night long and slept incredibly well, waking up refreshed and without stiffness. The pillow top was kind to my elbows, joints and spine, and surprisingly, I'm not as restless! I absolutely adore my new mattress and I can't stop recommending it to my friends. I've slept on the mattress for a full week now and I have zero complaints. I look forward to many years with my Lux Estate. Thank you, for such a wonderful product!

I love my new Stearns and Foster mattress! I prefer the ultra firm style. It is designed for extremely comfortable sleeping. I chose the Stearns and Foster mattress and always will since my previous mattress was the Luxury Estate hybrid. The mattress was 11 years old and was very comfortable and firm for the age. I wanted to purchase a newer up to date mattress with the same firmness and comfort and I found it! I truly have no fault with a Stearns and foster mattress! I Highly recommend this product!

We've been sleeping on our new Estate Firm Pillowtop mattress for about a month now and we're yet to find a downside. It's completely supportive, yet the top makes it comfortable enough to sleep on your side. This type of mattress came as a recommendation of a chiropractor, and it turned out to be just right. Bonus: my husband sleeps on the very edge of the bed, and while most mattrasses tend to slope down, this one has coils all the way to the edge, it's fantastic!

We received our split California king bed yesterday and was amazed on how easy it was to make the bed especially when you can raise up the end of the bed to get the sheets on there. The bed is so comfortable. We are very happy with this purchase. This is Lux Estate tight top Medium is not a true medium when compared to any other brand of medium. This mattress is squishy; very squishy. I would consider it a soft, or medium-soft if you want to stretch the meaning of medium. And compared to medium mattresses of the past, this is definitely a Soft mattress. The floor model in the store where I bought my S&F was much firmer than the one they delivered. When I complained to the salesperson, he said that the floor model has firmed up over time from so many people laying on it, and my mattress will firm up too; just give it time. I feel so betrayed and hoodwinked and will never buy another S&F in the future.

We ordered a new bedframe to go with our new mattress and finally set everything up this weekend 7-19-25. This mattress is AMAZING!!! I thought we were going to be sad getting rid of our old mattress of 25 years because it was so comfortable, but we were wrong. This mattress forms to your body and feels like it hugs you. It's soft but not too soft which makes it even more comfortable. If it was up to me, I would stay in bed all the time. This last 2 nights that we have slept in our new bed has been the best. We actually feel rested, and our bodies don't hurt. We always felt sore or/and always tired on our old mattress. I just can't say enough about our decision. Yes, it's expensive but well worth the expense. We would recommend this mattress to anyone that is having a hard time sleeping at night.

I am mostly a side sleeper and this mattress was quite comfortable. I woke up so much less achy in my neck, back and shoulders. I slept "cool" and fell asleep more quickly...which was unusual for me.
This 14.5" thick mattress worked very well with the adjustable base.
Having the 2 twin xl mattresses to form a king size bed posed the issue of how to get the sheets on in the middle...we found out how useful the adjustable base was for this task!! (Purchased twin xl fitted sheets and used the king flat sheets I already had)
This turned out to be a very high quality purchase all around.

First night...woke up without the usual aches in my shoulders!
We researched and wanted a top brand for this purchase...Stearns and Foster met our criteria...edge support, not too firm, not too soft. Most important was that it did not "sleep hot"...this mattress was cool all night. The 14.5 inch thickness worked very well with the really fun adjustable base.
The thing I hated most was that I had to eventually get up (yawn) and leave the bed this morning...lol

A best for our mid 70's bodies that need strong support and a smooch easier to get in and out. we love the support this gives us over those mattresses in a box. Purchased a queen Studio which was delivered the end of March 2023. For comfort, it is fine; HOWEVER, do not believe the marketing hype about the craftsmanship. I recently noticed the stitching on the mattress top coming completely undone at two opposite corners. There is nothing touching these corners which are covered not only by the mattress pad, but also by a 2-inch topper. I am the only user-an 80 yo slender female who literally sleeps on only 20% of the mattress. I purchased it from MattressFirm; their online claim is a joke-one has to undo the entire bed and frame. It is, at this juncture in my life, an unsuitable product.

Bought a sleep number i10 for a few years after back surgery a cervical discectomy. After sleeping on a Stearns and Foster mattress in an AB&B for 2 weeks and noticed no back pain or hip pain in the morning we decided to get us the Lux Estate medium pillow top king to replace our i10 sleep number bed. NO REGRETS!! My husband wakes up with no back pain and says he is sleeping through the night (no tossing or turning). My hips honestly do not hurt in the mornings when I get up. Noticed as well we do not sweat which has been a blessing as I would have to wash our sheets twice a week before. We highly recommend this mattress💖

I was looking for a firm mattress, like a hard mattress. Apparently, they don't exist anymore. This is my second SF mattress, and the firmest they offered. It is taking me a while to get used to a foam top. I am a stomach sleeper and like a firmer mattress, but there doesn't seem to be any firmer options. I was told some people consider the foam toppers to make for a warmer sleep. I told them I was cold natured, so It wouldn't be a problem. Well it does in 100 degree Texas heat. I'm hoping winter will be perfect. I would recommend this mattress with some caveats. Not great for stomach sleepers or hot sleepers.

We haven't replaced our mattress for 20+ years. We went from a queen size to a king size (by my wife's insistence). She was 100% right! Our Lux Estate Collection pillow top in firm has been sooo comfortable right from day one. Seriously, we look forward to going to bed early and dread getting out in the morning. We have been sleeping on this bed for 3 weeks. There has been no "adjustment time" needed with this mattress. I have slept soundly and have not felt or heard my partner move at all. My partner likes mattresses softer than I do but this mattress has been perfect for both of us.

We have owned this mattress for 5 years, it has been replaced twice through warranty for such bad body indentations, and the worst sleep due to this. You need to go through your retailer for warranty claims, and living in a small town it's embarassing to complain yet again for a 3rd time. We will never buy stearns and foster again.
Customer service via email won't help. Advised us to return to our retailer for assistance.

This replaced our first Stearns and Foster which we loved. Our new Stearns and Foster is great. My wife's back pain went away immediately. We thought our first Stearns and Foster was still pretty firm. It lasted a really long time, but we did not realize how overdue we were for a mattress. I've always been a fan of Stearns & Foster and have owned several of their mattresses in the past, but this particular King Pillow Top Soft model has been a major letdown. We purchased it in August '24, and since then, we've ended up sleeping in our guest room more often than our own bed - which is really saying something.
The issue seems to be in the support structure of the mattress. While the middle of the bed feels great - soft yet supportive without a big dip - the sides noticeably sink in. This isn't just typical body contouring; it's a structural dip that creates a raised hump in the center. It puts our bodies into a subtle "V" shape, resulting in hip pain and a feeling like you're sleeping on an, unsupportive surface along the sides. I wish the mattress as a whole was crafter equally in the center and sides.
This isn't what I expect from a premium mattress - especially not from Stearns & Foster.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Quality and Unhelpful Support from Stearns & Foster
I purchased a Stearns & Foster Estate mattress less than seven months ago, and I am extremely disappointed - both in the product and the company's response to a clear quality issue.
From day one, this mattress has been fully protected with a high-quality mattress topper. Despite never being directly exposed to any wear or friction, the fabric cover on the mattress has begun to tear. I filed a warranty claim, expecting support for what is obviously a premature material failure. To my surprise, the response I received was that this issue was not something I should be filing a warranty claim for.
Even more frustrating, I asked if there was anything I could do to prevent further tearing, and the representative offered no suggestions or guidance whatsoever. The communication was cold, dismissive, and entirely unhelpful. It was clear they were more interested in avoiding responsibility than standing behind their product.
The result is that I am now stuck with a mattress - barely seven months old - with a cover that is visibly tearing and will only continue to degrade. It is unacceptable for a brand that markets itself as "luxury" to offer a product with such poor durability and then provide no support when issues arise.
This mattress is now being moved to a guest room because I no longer feel comfortable sleeping on it, and I am genuinely frustrated to have spent a significant amount of money on something that feels so cheaply made and poorly backed.
I will not purchase from Stearns & Foster again, and I strongly encourage others to consider alternative brands that not only deliver quality but also stand behind their products and treat their customers with respect. A luxury brand should offer more than a name - it should offer accountability, durability, and service. Stearns & Foster has failed in all three.

Bed is very comfortable and we love it BUT ,,,,, after 3 and 1/2 years or so it's like sleeping in a hole. I was told this is top of the line and it was going to last 10 years. When I spend $3500 to $5000 I expect it to be comfortable longer than 4 years..
